Real Wedding: Lindsay and Justin

El Chorro is one of the most iconic venues in valley and this wedding was no exception! Now when life gives you lemons, you turn them into the focal point for a picture perfect wedding day! Lindsay and Justin’s October wedding was full of fresh designs and bright ideas. A huge thanks to Susie Crouch, owner of Everything Susie, for bringing in Bride Lindsay! We loved her laid back attitude and vision of a wedding day full of the things she loves most. The day was captured by Keith and Melissa Photography with Vee Creative designing the flawless stationary for the day! Also, don’t miss out on gushing over the gorgeous cake by Ruze Cake House, we know it must have tasted as great as it looked.

Bridal Beauty Timeline

Every Bride wants to look their absolute best on their wedding day! We’ve seen lots of different ideas and timelines for preparing for the big day, but we wanted to take it one step forward with some of our favorite spots in the valley for prep and pampering.

1 Year Out

Star to evaluate what bridal beauty means to you! Want to grow out you hair? Star getting into better shape? Get used to walking in heels? Make a list of what you want to improve on before the big day but if you feel like you want to maintain your current gorgeous self, that’s perfect too! Remember that you do have plenty of time until the big day, but things like engagement photos and wedding dress shopping will be happening sooner than you think! Try out a new fitness class with your bridesmaids or make the switch to clean eating.

Our Picks:
RPM Spin Class – get your heart rate up and have fun spinning at what feels like a dance party! You can try out the first class for free, but we know you’ll be hooked.

The Gracious Pantry – this site is amazing for recipes and meal plan ideas to get you on the right track to eating clean! Feel great from the inside out.

6 – 9 Months Out

This point in the planning process might seem to be super stressful, with deposits and decisions popping up at every turn. Remember to keep your stress under control, start a meditation routine or a weekly yoga class to find some zen. This is also a good time to start a skin care regime to ensure the perfect glow on your day! Make sure to be taking vitamins and drinking plenty of water to stay healthy. You’ll be purchasing your dress in this time period too, so don’t forget to keep up with your fitness routine and schedule fittings.

Our Picks:
Urban Yoga – venture to Downtown Phoenix for an amazing yogi experience! The instructors are fabulous and full of positive vibes.

AZ Healthy Skin, Breanna Thomas – make an appointment with Brenna for a skincare regime that will give you a healthier and more beautiful life!

3 – 5 Months Out

The big day is only a few months away and it’s crunch time! Make sure to start scouting out hair dressers and make up artists for the big day. We recommend having someone come on site to give you more time to get ready and enjoy yourself! Schedule any other consults for eyebrow reshaping or a color change to make sure the change is what you want. Look into teeth whitening or test out a spray tan!

Our Picks:
Makeup By Heather Wilson – get ready to be WOWed by Heather, she brings out women’s natural beauty and elevates it to a picture perfect level!

Bronzmopolitan – this Scottsdale-based tanning salon is one of our favorites! Sip on a cocktail or mimosa and enjoy a chick flick while waiting for your airbrush tan inside their studio.

1 – 2 Months Out

At this point, make sure all of your day-of beauty is scheduled and on the books. You will want to do a trial run with your glam squad and bring any accessories you will be wearing! Pick out a signature scent to wear for the first time on your wedding day, every time you smell it you’ll be taken back to the magic. Try to squeeze in a facial and massage for a relaxing day that you most definitely deserve. Do your best to maintain your weight to ensure your gown fits perfectly on your wedding day.

Our Picks:
Nordstrom – their selection of lux perfumes cannot be rivaled, the salespeople are so very helpful in selecting a scent that you (and your groom) will love.
spa
Joya Spa at The Omni Montelucia – you will feel live you’ve stepped into another world when entering the Joya Spa! Their services are heavenly and the service is world-class.

1 – 2 Weeks Out

You’ve almost made it to the big day! Take care of all small beauty tasks the last two weeks, get a final trim and color service, schedule your manicure and pedicure, get your eyebrows waxed, and cut down on foods that cause bloating. Schedule a spray tan (optional) two days out, only if you know how it will turn out! Always make sure nothing is scheduled with enough time to fix any mistakes that may happen! Drink lots of water and wash your face every night.

Our Picks:
Dolce Salon – you will feel like a total princess after a visit to Dolce! Their technicians are fabulous and up to date on the best techniques and styles.

Lunchbox Waxing Salon – this high-end wax salon caters to the clients needs because they know no two brows are alike! You’ll walk out with your brows on fleek and feel amazing.

From here on out maintain your beauty routine to ensure your bridal beauty! Keep stress and alcohol to a minimum to keep your skin looking fresh, but we understand that glass of wine might be necessary. Enjoy this time and remember your groom is going to fall in love all over again no matter how you look when he first sees on your wedding day!

Vendor Feature: Creations in Cuisine Catering

Deciding from a long list of caterers can be difficult, especially when you have no idea where to start! Everyone has a different opinion and a caterer they prefer. We’re hear to help narrow down that list and introduce you to one of our favorites, Creations in Cuisine Catering. They’ve been working in the valley since 1996 (and if you know anything about caterers in this town,  names come and go but staying power is reserved for the elite). You don’t just get to be in the events industry for 19 years by providing mediocre food and unreliable service… owner Tony Rea knows the value of high quality cuisine and a dedicated, well-trained staff. Their wedding menus offer both a diverse selection and the ability to customize hors d’oeuvres and entrées to entice the palette with “an emphasis on taste, freshness and creativity.” Exceptional presentation, incredible food and impeccable service all come together to make any event memorable with Creations in Cuisine Catering.

“Imagine the possibilities”

**Author’s note: After writing this post, I immediately ate a huge meal and broke my strict bridal diet because of the images of their amazing food that filled my laptop.

Venue Feature: The Royal Palms Resort and Spa

With so many beautiful resorts in the Valley of the Sun, how does one decide which property to book their wedding? Well, we’re here to help and introduce you to the gorgeous Royal Palms Resort and Spa! The history of the resort is quite romantic, it was “built as an expression of love in 1929 as a couple’s cherished desert getaway in Phoenix, AZ. Today, their devotion lives on in a romantic backdrop of towering palms, hidden nooks and regal, Spanish Colonial architecture.” How perfect a place to begin the next chapter of your love story?!

The intimate feel of the property translates into a personal oasis for your wedding guests… it is truly an experience they will not forget. Weddings can be held at many different locations throughout the 9–acre resort, including Vernadero Lawn, Jardin D’Amore, Estrella Salon, Orange Grove, Palmera Salon and ever awe-inspiring Alegria Garden. Each spot provides a idyllic backdrop that does not require exuberant décor, the spaces stand on their own. We, of course, cannot forget to mention the culinary experience that is that masterpiece, T. Cooks. If you’re a foodie (or just enjoy an amazing meal), you will be so impressed by their menu and five-star service. A wedding at The Royal Palms will be filled with sophisticated luxury and timeless elegance. We pulled some of our favorite photos from the Royal Palms Pinterest page for inspiration and eye-candy.

Real Wedding: Jennifer & Ryan at The Royal Palms

“An experience of romance, beauty and flawless celebration for family and friends”, this sums up the enchanting experience of a wedding at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Paradise Valley. The property boasts six distinct venues for wedding events, providing the perfect backdrop for any wedding in mind! The resort has an intimate, luxurious feel making it quite obvious as to why the Royal Palms was named the #1 Resort in Phoenix Travel + Leisure, 2015.

Jennifer and Ryan celebrated their late Spring wedding at the resort. The day was absolutely timeless, we always love the opportunity to be creative with such a beautiful backdrop. The flower girl’s Rose and Hydrangea pomander balls were one of our favorite designs, along with the gorgeous Peonies bouquets! The day was captured by O Grace Photography.

Tabletop Inspiration: Classic Meets Modern

The June/July issue of Arizona Weddings Magazine featured tabletop designs for wedding inspiration. Your Event Florist was featured in two separate photo shoots. This week we are showcasing our Classic Meets Modern tabletop at the JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort. Our amazing vendor team included La Tavola Fine Linenkool Party Rentals and The Event Essentials, with the day captured by Minson Weddings. Your Event Florist designed the whimsical shoot with the inspiration for the décor originally coming from the beautiful aqua linen pattern. This look was “created for the modern Cinderella who loves patterns, eternally romantic décor and wants to make a bold statement. In contrast to the linen, the silver centerpiece was filled with lush red and pink flowers to create a bold contrast. It was set high on a plexi-glass cube and surrounded by smaller mirrored arrangements to lend to the modern tone. Warm red was also used for the place settings, adding even more pop to the look. The romantic cake was created in the same beautiful aqua color as the table linens and decorated with lovely white flowers. The menu and place cards were created with the same pattern as the linens, tying it all together.”

Local Venue Feature: Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort

Camelback Mountain has long been one of the most iconic spots in the Valley of the Sun. It’s size is only heightened by its mystique for which people all over the world come to photograph, hike and admire. Imagine being able to have the opportunity to celebrate your wedding day aside these magnificent views. Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort gives couples the perfect space along side the Northern Slope of Camelback to say “I Do.” No matter where you are on the resort grounds, a stunning view captures your eye and is guaranteed to leave your wedding guests in awe. Just like Your Event Florist, the property makes a point to only book one wedding a day, so you will be the sole-focus of their event staff. Sanctuary offers many different indoor & outdoor venue options (of which you can marvel at below!) Sanctuary’s luxurious and refined experience is absolutely one of a kind.

Styled Shoot: A Cinderella Inspired Engagement

Growing up, little girls dream of their prince charming coming along and sweeping them off their feet for a lifelong, fairytale romance. A few months ago we found out that fairy tales really do come true for a beautiful afternoon at El Chorro, in Paradise Valley, AZ. This stunning engagement shoot was inspired by the classic story of Cinderella (minus the mice, of course!). We paired up with Some Like it Classic Wedding Design and Ryan & Denise Photography to capture the awe-inspiring day.

Kevin Reed, YEF owner & lead designer, wanted to create a dazzling floral design that would convey the magic & romance of the Cinderella tale while also translating into modern day. Two large candelabras framed the table with votives and faux diamonds on the gold damask table cloth from Wildflower Linen. The focal point centerpiece draped into a flower cascade, custom designed with White and Blue Hydrangea, White Roses, White Ranunculus, White Dahlias and accented with Ivy. Candles and votives filled the steps with White Dahlia and White Ranunculus accents. The results were simply breathtaking.

Make sure to check out our blog next week to see how to incorporate a Floral Cascade into your wedding!
