The Life Of A Bride To Be: The Finish Line Is Near

How in the world did “we have 8 months to go” turn into “we have 8 WEEKS to go!”? Time seriously does fly when you’re planning a wedding. Looking back, it hasn’t been the stressful disaster that so many people describe wedding planning to be! Do you want to know what I think the secret is? Choosing the right vendors. It truly makes all of the difference when you know you have vendors that you can trust with the biggest day of your life.

When you think about it, this is the most extravagant (don’t kill me for using this word) party that you will ever throw in your life! The day is all about you and your spouse, and being able to find the right florist or planner that you can fully rely on for such a big day is an accomplishment in itself. I sincerely believe that finding these people is half the battle of the stress that comes along with planning a wedding day. Anytime I have a moment of doubt, thinking about what could go wrong, I remember that these individuals are the ones that are making sure everything goes right!

For example, earlier this week our fabulous photographer, Jenn Wagner, emailed me to see if I had some time to chat about our timeline. I hopped on a call right away, dreading some terrible news that could ruin my big day. From day one, I’ve wanted a traditional ceremony; a first look was totally out of the question for me. However, Jenn explained that since our ceremony ends as the sun is setting, that we might need to either do all of our photos inside or consider a first look. Jenn knew how I felt about keeping the tradition alive and told me our photos would be just as lovely even if we didn’t go the first look path. After talking it out with her, I realized that I would much rather have spectacular photos with the fantastic views our venue offers than uphold a tradition for some unknown reason. Jenn was never pushy nor persuasive; she wants our day to be a special celebration that we envisioned. That’s the kind of vendor you want to find, one that listens and makes your dream wedding come true!

There will be hiccups along the way, even moments when you think, “why didn’t we just elope?”. The end is finally in sight and from what I can tell, it will all be worth it! Finally being able to see all of the details come together is one of the most rewarding parts of planning a wedding. This is the fun part! The bachelorette party, bridal shower, wedding gifts and so much love surrounding you. Even getting the mail is exciting because you know under all those bills and coupon books there could be an RSVP from your childhood best friend telling you she can make it to your big day! I cannot wait to marry the man of my dreams surrounded by our loved ones, seeing all of the months of planning finally come together in the most perfect celebration. Also, I know you all can’t wait to see the floral designs that Kevin has created! We’ll be sure to post them a few weeks after the wedding chaos has died down.

Real Wedding: Tara & Jeff

There is something simply perfect about April in the valley! The weather is ideal and everyone loves to take advantage of the warm days and cool, breezy nights. Tara and Jeff picked a beautiful April day to get married at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. The bride’s bouquet complimented springtime in Arizona with green mini succulents paired with white garden roses, blush spray roses, and light pink tulips. These pastel tones were carried throughout the floral designs and really popped in the reception! Trumpet vases were the focal point of the reception tables, accented with white hydrangea, blush roses, white lisianthus and light pink tulips with succulent accents. The day was pure elegance and we were so honored to be a part of it. Brittany Janelle Photography captured the gorgeous photos below.

2016 Fall Wedding Trends

While most of the country is winding down from their busy season, filled with gorgeous summer weddings, here in the valley we are just beginning! Wedding season picks back up in August and continues well into the spring, thanks to the mild temperatures and gorgeous sunsets that fill the Grand Canyon state in the fall. Looking ahead, we’re seeing lots of fun and original trends for the fall and love sharing these tips with our YEF couples!

Food and drink stations are a great way to intrigue your guest’s taste buds while showing off your foodie side. Try an apple cider bar or a smores building station!

There’s been a huge space neglected in ceremony and reception spaces for a very long time, the ceiling! This empty space has become a blank canvas for couples to add unique light treatments, floral designs or even draped fabric!

We cannot forget the Pantone Colors of the Year, rose quartz and serenity. These whimsy shades are perfect for softening your color palette on the big day. Try your “something blue” in serenity or adorn your flower girl in a rose quartz tutu.

Real Wedding: Julia & Peter At The Phoenix Art Museum

A museum wedding always carries a sense of elegance and class for couples who chose to celebrate their big day surrounded by timeless pieces of artwork. This wedding, planned by Outstanding Occassions at the Phoenix Art Museum, was a timeless classic!  Absolutely one of our favorites for its romance and beauty.  The day and details were all so perfectly captured by Mike Olbinski Photography.  One of our absolute favorites!  The sculpture lawn, where the ceremony took place, was transformed with bold florals and romantic candlelight that softly lit the aisle. The color palette was carried into the reception decor where guests enjoyed the sounds from a live band and danced the night away.  It’s hard not to be stunned by the images and beauty captured.  We just adore the images and all of the emotion they convey. This wedding is one we will never forget!

Real Wedding: Kate & Justin

Glamor and chic came together to form a beautiful wedding day for Kate and Justin! The Westin Kierland provided the perfect backdrop for their December wedding, the weather was almost as gorgeous as the bridal party. Signature Events by Charlee put on this show stopping day and we love reliving it through the images by Marriott Photography. Kate’s gown was simply stunning, it sparkled all day long, almost as much as groom Justin when she walked down the aisle!

Real Wedding: Jennifer & Ryan at The Royal Palms

“An experience of romance, beauty and flawless celebration for family and friends”, this sums up the enchanting experience of a wedding at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Paradise Valley. The property boasts six distinct venues for wedding events, providing the perfect backdrop for any wedding in mind! The resort has an intimate, luxurious feel making it quite obvious as to why the Royal Palms was named the #1 Resort in Phoenix Travel + Leisure, 2015.

Jennifer and Ryan celebrated their late Spring wedding at the resort. The day was absolutely timeless, we always love the opportunity to be creative with such a beautiful backdrop. The flower girl’s Rose and Hydrangea pomander balls were one of our favorite designs, along with the gorgeous Peonies bouquets! The day was captured by O Grace Photography.

Real Wedding: NYE Celebration

In the midst of another sweltering Arizona summer, we’re dreaming of 70 degrees and cool breezes that arrive around the holidays! It might seem like an eternity away, however we’re hoping this spectacular New Year’s Eve wedding will get you through these hot days. New Year’s Eve weddings are becoming more and more popular and we just love the idea of ringing in the new year with a wedding surrounded by all those you cherish most. Amanda and Eric planned one of the most glamorous New Year’s Ever weddings we’ve ever seen (and we just loved being a part of)! They incorporated the glitz of the holiday into their wedding in a chic and romantic way. Kimberly Jarman Photography truly captured the celebratory feeling of the day in her photographs. The Four Seasons Scottsdale At Troon North provided an idyllic backdrop and the views from the resort never disappoint. From the escort card table of noise makers to the gorgeous gold head table, this is a wedding we will never forget!
