Kelsey and Brian’s burgundy-filled Arizona desert wedding was picture perfect, with Mike Olbinski Photography capturing every detail of their day. Their ceremony backdrop of the Superstition Mountains at The Paseo was simply breathtaking! We accented the natural beauty with a wooden trellis that was covered with pink and burgundy florals and an abundance of greenery to complete the look. Kelsey carried one of our favorite bouquets so far with a focal point of Queen Protea and beautiful burgundy Hanging Amaranthus.
It’s easy to see why Greenery was picked for Pantone’s Color of the Year. It’s refreshing and full of life, perfect for starting the new year. Greenery isn’t just your average shade of green, it’s fresh and zesty. This color translates perfectly into the world of weddings! Garlands and bouquets have been filling up with more and more greenery with the rise of the fresh, garden style. Use this wedding inspiration for incorporating Greenery into your big day!
As some of you may know, I’ve been writing about my real-life experiences as bride-to-be on the blog over the past year! It’s been a whirlwind of a journey but it was all worth it. Our wedding day, at Desert Mountain Cochise Geronimo Clubhouse, was everything I could have ever dreamed of and the proof is in the photographs. I was warned, things will go wrong, but no one will notice! Are there things I would like to go back and change? Of course, but I also wouldn’t trade the feeling of seeing my handsome groom during our first-look for anything in the world. The day was truly the best day of my life and a huge thanks to all of the wonderful vendors that made this day possible. Jenn Wagner captured our day and her photos… oh my gosh. We felt like we lived the day all over again when we saw them. The staff and planners at Skyla Brooke Weddings were great in making sure the day flowed flawlessly. And of course, the FLORALS! They took my breath away, Kevin did the most fabulous job of taking my vision and turning it into a reality. From the pops of dark red dahlias in the bridesmaids bouquets to the custom-designed arch that framed our ceremony. It was everything! Check out some of the photos below and see what an impact these stunning florals have on our images.
Wintertime is one of the loveliest seasons in Arizona for weddings! Cool temperatures make outdoor weddings simply gorgeous around the holidays and into the new year. In today’s day and age, it’s much easier to get your favorite flowers throughout the year, rather than just what is in season. However, we love when our couples want to play homage to the seasonality of their big day! We wanted to share a few of our favorite winter blooms, get ready for some gorgeous inspiration.
These delicate beauties come in shades of white, purple, yellow, pink and red. They are very contemporary and their black centers are what make them so unique!

Eric and Sarah’s wedding was an affair to remember, filled with timeless designs and true love. Dahlia, rose, and hydrangea arrangements surrounded the couple on their special day. The blush tones complimented the gorgeous background at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge. We are still gushing over their glitzy head table that sparkled almost as much as the beautiful bride. Eyes 2 See Photography captured this couple’s adoration for one another in these timeless stunning images.
We are still head over heels for our styled shoot at El Chorro that was recently feature on Grey Likes Weddings! The backdrop, the colors, the dress… it’s the perfect combination for a Spanish-inspired romantic wedding. With the deep hues of the blooms contrasted against the desert landscape, Rachel Soloman truly captured a feeling of whimsy and passion in her images! Kevin Reed, our owner and lead designer, drew inspiration for this shoot from the luscious bougainvillea that surrounds the El Chorro property. He used fresh bougainvillea throughout the shoot to pay homage to the Paradise Valley gem.

Pumpkin spice lattes and cooler temperatures are here, along with fall! As much as we love summertime, we are looking forward to the start of Arizona wedding season. Fall in the valley might not mean the leaves are changing or that you can finally wear your favorite pair of boots, but that does not mean you can’t incorporate some traditional fall designs into your wedding. The fall hues of orange, red and copper are wonderful accents to a wedding color palette. This week we are sharing subtle ways to highlight the season into your wedding day!
There are so many beautiful florals to choose from for a fall-inspired bouquet. It all comes down to the Bride’s tastes and style!
The trend of mismatched bridesmaid dresses is perfect in fall colors! These bold shades look gorgeous on any skin tone.
If you’re a Bride that loves glamor, you’ll adore these gilded pumpkins! They make for unique escort card table decor or favor to say thank you to your guests.

How in the world did “we have 8 months to go” turn into “we have 8 WEEKS to go!”? Time seriously does fly when you’re planning a wedding. Looking back, it hasn’t been the stressful disaster that so many people describe wedding planning to be! Do you want to know what I think the secret is? Choosing the right vendors. It truly makes all of the difference when you know you have vendors that you can trust with the biggest day of your life.
When you think about it, this is the most extravagant (don’t kill me for using this word) party that you will ever throw in your life! The day is all about you and your spouse, and being able to find the right florist or planner that you can fully rely on for such a big day is an accomplishment in itself. I sincerely believe that finding these people is half the battle of the stress that comes along with planning a wedding day. Anytime I have a moment of doubt, thinking about what could go wrong, I remember that these individuals are the ones that are making sure everything goes right!
For example, earlier this week our fabulous photographer, Jenn Wagner, emailed me to see if I had some time to chat about our timeline. I hopped on a call right away, dreading some terrible news that could ruin my big day. From day one, I’ve wanted a traditional ceremony; a first look was totally out of the question for me. However, Jenn explained that since our ceremony ends as the sun is setting, that we might need to either do all of our photos inside or consider a first look. Jenn knew how I felt about keeping the tradition alive and told me our photos would be just as lovely even if we didn’t go the first look path. After talking it out with her, I realized that I would much rather have spectacular photos with the fantastic views our venue offers than uphold a tradition for some unknown reason. Jenn was never pushy nor persuasive; she wants our day to be a special celebration that we envisioned. That’s the kind of vendor you want to find, one that listens and makes your dream wedding come true!
There will be hiccups along the way, even moments when you think, “why didn’t we just elope?”. The end is finally in sight and from what I can tell, it will all be worth it! Finally being able to see all of the details come together is one of the most rewarding parts of planning a wedding. This is the fun part! The bachelorette party, bridal shower, wedding gifts and so much love surrounding you. Even getting the mail is exciting because you know under all those bills and coupon books there could be an RSVP from your childhood best friend telling you she can make it to your big day! I cannot wait to marry the man of my dreams surrounded by our loved ones, seeing all of the months of planning finally come together in the most perfect celebration. Also, I know you all can’t wait to see the floral designs that Kevin has created! We’ll be sure to post them a few weeks after the wedding chaos has died down.
This week we are featuring the Sedona styled shoot that our very own dutch intern, Stephanie, designed and modeled in! Stephanie is as gorgeous as she is talented, so we were very excited to able to help her out with her final internship project with Your Event Florist. Malone Sinclaire captured these beautiful ethereal images, with makeup and hair provided by the makeup queen herself, Heather Wilson. Stephanie’s designs highlighted the beauty of natural free-form and unique floral. The textures and colors were able to stand on their own against the backdrop of the gorgeous Enchantment Resort tucked away in Boynton Canyon. The stunning Haley Paige wedding dress was provided thanks to Schaffer’s. It was a truly magical day up in Sedona!
